Samsung refrigerators, ranges and ovens
Three- and four-door French-door refrigerators, Flex models with a convertible middle drawer, Family Hub models with a screen in the door, Bespoke models with interchangeable panels, and side-by-side refrigerators. For cooking: gas, electric and induction ranges, Flex Duo ovens with a removable divider, wall ovens and cooktops.

Separate cooling, and a warm fresh-food side
Many Samsung French-door refrigerators cool the fresh-food and freezer sections with separate evaporators and fans. That is why the fresh-food side can warm up while the freezer stays hard frozen: the fault sits on the fresh-food side alone, usually its fan or its defrost.
Frost on the back panel of the fresh-food section, a fan that rattles or stops, and water collecting under the crisper drawers all point to that evaporator's defrost cycle: the heater, the sensor or the drain. The compressor is shared, so a fault there warms both sides together, and a sealed-system repair is done by EPA 608 certified technicians.
The ice room in the left door
Many Samsung French-door models make ice in an ice room in the left door, cooled through ducts by freezer air and a small fan. If the ice room seal leaks or the chute flap stays open, humid air gets in and frost builds: the ice maker jams, the bucket fills with a block, and water can drip from the dispenser.
Some models put the ice maker in the freezer instead, and some have two. Either way, the fill path is the same: the water filter, the inlet valve and a fill tube that can freeze. Codes in the 39 and 40 range generally relate to the ice maker or its fan; the owner's guide for your model has the exact meaning.
What it is doing, and what that usually means
OF OF on the display
Cooling Off mode, not a fault. Turn it off with the button combination in the owner's guide.
21E or 22E on the display
A freezer or fresh-food fan fault, often caused by ice around the fan.
Fresh-food side warm, freezer frozen
The fresh-food evaporator fan or its defrost: the heater, the sensor or the drain.
Ice room frosted over
A leaking ice room seal, a chute flap that stays open, or the ice room fan.
One Flex Duo section won't heat
The divider sensing, that section's element or burner, or the control.
Codes on the display, and settings that look like faults
Samsung refrigerators show fault codes on the display. 21E points to the freezer fan and 22E to the fresh-food fan; on some newer models the same codes end in C instead of E. Both are often caused by ice around the fan, which leads back to defrost.
One reading is not a fault at all. On many models, OF OF or O FF means the refrigerator is in Cooling Off mode, a showroom setting that keeps the lights and display on with the cooling switched off. The owner's guide shows the button combination that turns it off.
Samsung ranges and Flex Duo ovens
On Samsung ranges, an oven that won't heat usually has a weak igniter on gas models or a failed bake element on electric ones. A Flex Duo oven can also lose one section when something is wrong with the divider or the way the oven senses it.
On a gas range, our work is the range itself: burner heads, igniters, the spark module, the oven valve and the controls. We do not repair the gas supply line, the piping or the shutoff valve. That is work for a gas line contractor or your gas utility.
If you smell gas, leave every knob and switch as it is, go outside, and call your gas utility or 911 from there.
