Miele appliance repair in Miami: ovens, cooktops and refrigeration
Miele kitchens are usually planned as a set: an oven and a steam oven stacked in one column, a cooktop on the island, refrigeration behind cabinet panels. We repair Miele ovens, steam and speed ovens, cooktops, warming drawers and built-in refrigeration in Miami homes and condos. Appliance Repair Doctors is independent and not affiliated with Miele.

Miele ovens: convection, steam and combinations
Miele builds several kinds of wall oven: convection ovens, many with self-clean; steam ovens that cook with steam alone; combi-steam ovens that combine convection and steam; and speed ovens that add a microwave to a convection oven.
An oven that heats slowly or unevenly usually has a failed element, often the ring element around the convection fan, a fan motor that has stopped, or a temperature sensor reading wrong. After self-clean, a door that stays locked or an oven that no longer heats points to the lock or a thermal cutout.

Steam ovens and scale
A Miele steam oven makes its steam in a steam generator, fed from a water container you fill or, on plumbed models, from a water line with a drain. Water brings minerals, and the steam generator scales up over time.
Many models track their own use and ask for descaling when it is due. Descaling when asked, with the tablets the manual specifies, keeps the generator, the pump and the sensors working. Skipped descaling shows up as weak steam, long heat-up times, water left in the cavity or fault messages, and a container the oven no longer detects is a repair, not a cleaning job.
Miele cooktops: induction and gas
Miele makes induction, electric and gas cooktops. When an induction zone refuses to start, check the pan with a fridge magnet first; after that, look for an overheat shutdown from a blocked vent in the cabinet, or an electronics fault.
Many Miele gas burners have a flame-failure safeguard that shuts off the gas if the flame goes out, which is why the knob has to be held in for a few seconds after the burner lights. A burner that goes out as soon as the knob is released usually has a dirty or weak thermocouple, or a cap out of place.
On gas models, our work stays inside the appliance. We do not repair the gas supply line, the piping or the shutoff valve. That is work for a gas line contractor or your gas utility. If you smell gas, turn nothing on or off, get out of the house, and call your gas utility or 911 from outside.
What it is doing, and what that usually means
Oven heats slowly or unevenly
The ring element around the fan, the fan motor or the temperature sensor.
Steam oven makes little steam
Scale in the steam generator, the pump or a sensor. Descale first if the oven has been asking for it.
Gas burner goes out when the knob is released
The flame-failure thermocouple: dirty, weak or blocked by a misplaced cap. Try holding the knob a few seconds longer first.
Induction zone flashing
A pan the zone cannot use, an overheat cutout or a fault in the electronics.
Refrigerator column warm, fans running
A defrost fault, a sensor, or that column's sealed system.
Miele refrigeration and wine storage
Miele's built-in refrigerators, freezers and wine units are designed to disappear behind cabinet panels, as single columns or side-by-side pairs. Each column in a pair is a separate appliance, so one can fail while the one next to it runs normally.
The usual repairs: fans, door gaskets, the hinges and closers that carry a heavy custom panel, the ice maker's water valve, and controls. A sealed-system fault is rarer, and that work is done by EPA 608 certified technicians.
Electronics, power flickers and fault codes
Miele appliances are run by electronics, and electronics dislike Miami's summer storms. After a flicker, a control can lock onto a fault and show an F-code. Switching the appliance off at its breaker for a minute sometimes clears a one-off fault; a code that keeps returning needs a diagnosis. Note the code exactly, with the model from the data plate.
